ITEM OF THE GENERAL CONDITIONS

"TERRA" system (foldaway)
Bearing frame in extruded aluminium section, alloy 6060 T5, including a vertical section positioned depending on the design pitch and shaped to act as spacer (wall cavity of 80 ÷ 130 mm) and fixed to the wall by means of anchoring brackets and an horizontal section positioned on the sheets’ runout that act as support to the outer covering: these sections will be fixed each other with suitable AISI 304 stainless steel clips that enable their thermal expansion without drilling and avoiding to affect their protection (oxidization and electrocolour) for a longer life.
A suitable space for ventilation to be protected with mosquito net must be ensured.
Anchoring brackets will be made in 6060 T5 aluminium alloy, include slots for adjustments and be compatible with the bearing frame and fixed by means of AISI 304 stainless steel bolts without drilling the surface.

AISI 304 stainless steel bolts must have a suitable section including bolt, nut, and large washer and Grover washer.
The outer covering bearing system is made by the insertion of the sheet into the horizontal section and is fixed in the upper side through the release springs into the upper horizontal section and must be able to contrast the action of wind.
The insulating panel bearing springs are made in hardened and tempered steel and must be compatible with the bearing structure and shaped so to be release fixed without drilling the frame.
Straight brackets must be of mechanical or chemical resin type and in stainless steel. The type of small block (diameter, length, type) must be established after tearing tests made on the wall or on the materials that must be covered.
The materials used, as extruded aluminium, wall brackets, stainless steel hooks and springs to support the insulating panel must be produced by companies certified ISO 9002.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS:
"Terra" system consists of the following elements:
  • "CV1m" extruded section in EN 6060 T5 aluminium alloy (or similar upon need);
  • "T1" extruded section in EN 6060 T5 aluminium alloy (or similar upon need);
  • "T1" and "CD4c" hooks to support sheets in EN 14310 (AISI 301) stainless steel;
  • "CD4c" fixing springs of the hooks to the “CV1m” section type V7 in EN 14310 (AISI 301) treated stainless steel;
  • "A12" and "B12" standard bearing brackets made in EN 6060 extruded aluminium;
  • "T2" retaining hooks of "T2" EN 14310 (AISI 301) stainless steel sheets;
  • fixing screws of "CV1m" section to the brackets, stainless steel of Class A2;
  • straight bracket to anchor small blocks to the wall support must be of mechanical or chemical resin type upon needs;
  • neoprene band seal to combine sheets in respect of hooks and section of different thicknesses depending on needs;
  • "Lana" hardened and tempered stainless steel springs for the support of the insulation SHEETS applied to the walls, if needed.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM
The system includes the assemblage of the “CV1” aluminium vertical section with a pitch depending on the width of the covering sheet in addition to the horizontal design runouts between sheets with pitch equal to the height of the sheets plus runout.

"CV1m" vertical section is shaped to house the following accessories without drilling:

  • wall fixing brackets screwed with stainless steel bolts with pitch as in the design;
  • two "CD4c" hooks to support and retain “T1” section and the related "V7" fixing springs to be inserted by means of the suitable tool into the suitable groove of the vertical rod;
  • the bearing springs of the insulating panel are release applied, if necessary.

"T1" vertical section is shaped to house the following accessories without drilling:

  • covering sheets by means of the juxtaposition of the cuts to the section tooth;
  • "T2" upper retaining hooks inserted into the sheet cuts and release inserted into the section.

The lack of drilling enables to not affect the superficial protection (oxidization or electrocolour) and to improve the life of sections.

The main characteristic of the "Terra" system is to mount medium/large size sheets with an anchoring that is fully invisible from outside. The "Terra" system needs continuous cuts on both upper and lower sides of each sheet (standard thickness 4 mm with 12mm depth) able to host both the continuous tooth of the "T1" section and the tooth of "T2" the hook.

Each sheet is supported in the lower side by the "T1" section and retained in the upper side by “T2” hook; the number of "T2" hooks for each sheet depends on the its size (generally two hooks are used).

The sheet is integrated with the frame by means of interposition of a neoprene seal with suitable thickness and the application of silicone points, where necessary.

Once laid, each sheet can be independently assembled and/or disassembled in respect of all the others.

The frame, which enables each type of adjustment, can contrast wind action and enables the thermal expansion of the different components.

VOLUMES:
  • The standard frame trailing edge is 145 mm and is calculated from the central line of the sheet with a standard adjustment of ± 25 mm (this position corresponds to an average trailing edge of 160 mm ± 25 mm for 30 mm thick sheets).
  • The covering sheet standard thickness for this type of system is 20/40 mm.
  • The standard cut of the covering sheets must be 4 mm wide and 12 mm deep.
The diagram of the standard system is shown in the Document Annexed.

NOTE: THE EFFECTIVE COMPONENTS CAN BE ADJUSTED DURING THE DESIGN PHASE.
